Kraken Promotes Stavros Vassiliades To COO And Executive Director Of EU Operations

Kraken has promoted Stavros Vassiliades, CFA to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director – EU, strengthening the company’s leadership structure as it continues to expand its regulated operations across Europe.

Based in Cyprus, Vassiliades will oversee Kraken’s European operations and regulated trading presence, with a focus on operational governance, market expansion, and the development of regulated multi-asset services across the region. His promotion comes as Kraken continues to build its EU footprint and broaden its offering beyond digital assets into regulated trading products.

Vassiliades brings extensive experience in brokerage operations, compliance, and financial services regulation. Before joining Kraken, he served as Executive Director at Pepperstone EU Limited. He also held senior compliance and operations roles at MPS Marketplace Securities Ltd and MAP Fintech, gaining strong expertise across EU regulatory frameworks, MiFID-related operations, and institutional governance.

The appointment reflects Kraken’s continued focus on strengthening its regulated European business through experienced industry leadership. With Vassiliades taking on the COO and Executive Director role, Kraken aims to support the growth of its European operations, enhance internal controls, and improve connectivity with clients across regulated markets.
