CMC Markets has launched a new ChatGPT integration that allows UK CFD clients to access account and market information through conversational prompts.
Clients can connect a supported CMC Markets CFD account to ChatGPT and retrieve information including account balances, account values, open positions, pending orders, market exposure and unrealised profit or loss. The integration also supports searches for CMC products, available pricing, historical market data and candlestick charts.
The initial integration is read-only, meaning ChatGPT cannot place, amend or cancel orders, open or close positions, transfer funds or make other changes to a client's trading account. Trading activity must continue to be carried out through CMC Markets' own platform.
CMC said the UK is the first market to receive the functionality, with additional regions expected to follow. The service currently supports CFD accounts, while spread-betting accounts are not included.
Depending on the instrument and the client's market-data permissions, users can access real-time or delayed pricing. CMC has also warned that AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate or delayed and should not be treated as regulated financial advice.
The launch adds CMC Markets to a growing group of brokers and trading technology providers integrating AI assistants into client-facing platforms, although the level of functionality varies across the industry.
