Bruce Markets Moves Toward 24/7 U.S. Equity Trading With PEAK6 and Robinhood Support

Bruce Markets is preparing to introduce continuous weekend trading in U.S. equities, bringing the market closer to 24-hour, seven-day access for selected stocks and ETFs.

The planned expansion is backed by new strategic investments from PEAK6 Investments and Robinhood Markets. Bruce Markets will expand its use of Nasdaq’s trading technology, while Apex Clearing Corporation is expected to provide the clearing, carrying and custody infrastructure needed for the weekend sessions.

Bruce Markets currently operates Bruce ATS, which provides overnight access to U.S. equities outside traditional exchange hours. Adding weekend trading would extend that model across all seven days of the week and give participating brokers another venue for offering clients broader market access.

Robinhood has confirmed plans to offer weekend equity trading through Bruce ATS to eligible customers once the service receives regulatory approval.

The initiative comes as brokers, trading venues and infrastructure providers increasingly compete to offer more flexible access to financial markets. Demand has been particularly strong among retail and international investors who want to react to geopolitical events, corporate developments and other market-moving news outside standard U.S. trading hours.

The planned rollout also adds to the wider industry trend toward extended-hours and near-continuous trading, as traditional market structures adapt to investor demand for greater accessibility.

Bruce Markets said the weekend session is expected to go live in the coming months, but the service remains subject to regulatory review and has not yet launched.
