APG Asset Management Appoints Christos Saltapidas as Quantitative Fixed Income Trader

APG Asset Management has appointed Christos Saltapidas as a quantitative fixed income trader, promoting him internally after around six years with the firm.

Based in Amsterdam, Saltapidas will focus on trading government bonds and interest-rate derivatives in his new role.

He joined APG in 2020 as a junior asset management professional, rotating across quantitative, research and portfolio management functions before moving into more specialised investment roles.

Most recently, he spent around four years as a systematic commodities portfolio manager and quantitative researcher, where he was responsible for managing the firm’s internal systematic strategy portfolios.

Before joining APG, Saltapidas also worked at NN Investment Partners.

The move brings his background in quantitative research and systematic investing into the fixed income trading desk, where government debt and interest-rate derivatives form a key part of institutional market activity.

The appointment also highlights the increasing role of quantitative expertise across fixed income trading, as institutional investors continue to rely on data-driven research and systematic approaches alongside traditional execution strategies.
