Brevan Howard Selects Ripple Prime for Multi-Asset Brokerage, Clearing and Financing

Global alternative investment manager Brevan Howard has expanded its relationship with Ripple, selecting Ripple Prime to provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services across traditional and digital financial markets.

The agreement, announced on October 6, 2026, will give Brevan Howard funds access to Ripple Prime's integrated brokerage infrastructure, enabling investment teams to manage activities across multiple asset classes through a unified platform.

The partnership represents a further expansion of Ripple Prime's institutional business as demand increases for services connecting conventional financial instruments with digital assets.

Under the agreement, Ripple Prime will provide prime brokerage capabilities designed to support institutional trading operations, including clearing, financing and access to services covering multiple financial products.

The platform is intended to improve capital efficiency and simplify operational processes by allowing investment managers to use a coordinated brokerage infrastructure rather than relying on separate arrangements across different markets.

Brevan Howard is a global alternative investment manager specializing in macroeconomic investment strategies and digital assets. The company manages approximately $35 billion in assets on behalf of institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, foundations and endowments.

The expanded relationship builds on an existing connection between the companies. In November 2025, funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple's $500 million strategic investment round alongside several other major institutional investors.

Ripple Prime has been expanding its institutional brokerage capabilities since Ripple acquired Hidden Road, a multi-asset prime brokerage business, for approximately $1.25 billion in 2025.

The acquisition provided Ripple with an established infrastructure for serving institutional clients across traditional financial markets and digital asset products.

Ripple Prime's broader services encompass foreign exchange, derivatives, fixed income, equities and digital assets, allowing institutional investors to access financing and trading infrastructure across several markets.

Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said the expanded agreement demonstrates the platform's ability to serve sophisticated institutional investors seeking comprehensive prime brokerage services.

He emphasized that Brevan Howard's decision to deepen its relationship with Ripple Prime reflects confidence in the platform's cross-asset capabilities and long-term development strategy.

Alan McGroarty, Group Chief Operating Officer of Brevan Howard, highlighted the increasing connection between digital assets and traditional financial markets, noting the importance of institutional-grade infrastructure capable of supporting both.

He indicated that Ripple Prime's platform is expected to provide investment teams with greater operational efficiency and improved capital management capabilities.

The agreement comes as Ripple continues investing in the development of its institutional trading infrastructure.

In August 2026, Ripple Prime introduced a Delta One business supporting total return swaps linked to US-listed equities, indices and digital assets, expanding its presence in institutional derivatives markets.

The platform has also developed financing arrangements and liquidity connections intended to support growing demand from hedge funds, asset managers and other financial institutions.

The expanded partnership with Brevan Howard reflects a broader trend in institutional finance, where investment managers increasingly seek brokerage solutions capable of handling conventional securities and digital assets within an integrated operational framework.

As institutional participation in digital markets develops, demand for efficient clearing, financing, collateral management and risk management services is becoming an important area of competition among prime brokerage providers.

For Ripple Prime, the agreement represents another institutional relationship supporting its expansion beyond cryptocurrency infrastructure into the wider multi-asset financial services market.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement or specify the amount of Brevan Howard's assets that will be serviced through Ripple Prime.
