Global online trading broker Axi has launched a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration that connects eligible MetaTrader 5 accounts to Claude, the artificial intelligence assistant developed by Anthropic, introducing a conversational interface for accessing trading information and managing market positions.
The integration allows eligible Axi clients to retrieve live market data, monitor account balances, review open positions, execute trades and adjust risk parameters through Claude, subject to the permissions granted during the connection process.
Built using MCP, an open standard designed to connect AI applications with external systems and data sources, the technology enables Claude to communicate with supported MT5 accounts without requiring traders to develop custom software.
To activate the service, clients can add the Axi connector within Claude, complete the configuration process and authorize access using their secure Axi account credentials.
The integration represents a development in the use of conversational AI within retail trading infrastructure, allowing users to interact with selected trading functions through natural-language requests rather than relying exclusively on conventional platform interfaces.
Santiago Vazquez-Munoz, Global Head of Sales at Axi, said the initiative reflects the company's efforts to explore technology that improves access to trading information and account-management tools.
The launch comes as online brokers increasingly investigate artificial intelligence applications to improve platform accessibility, simplify complex workflows and introduce new ways for clients to interact with financial markets.
However, the integration does not operate as an independent financial adviser or eliminate the risks associated with leveraged trading. Clients remain responsible for their decisions and must authorize the relevant account permissions.
The service is available to eligible Axi clients holding active MT5 accounts, adding another technology-driven capability to the broker's trading infrastructure as interest in AI-assisted financial services continues to expand.
