Trade Nation has agreed to acquire the UK client book of Stratos Markets Limited, the entity behind the FXCM and Tradu brands in Britain, in a deal that will strengthen the broker’s position in one of its core markets.
The portfolio consists predominantly of retail traders, alongside a smaller group of professional clients. Financial terms have not been disclosed, while completion is expected in late November 2026.
The transaction will provide Trade Nation with an established customer base from FXCM, a longstanding participant in the global forex and CFD industry. Rather than relying solely on organic customer acquisition, the deal gives the company an opportunity to increase its scale and deepen its presence in the competitive UK trading market.
Trade Nation is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and provides spread betting and CFD services across a range of financial instruments. The company has continued to develop its offering as competition among online brokers intensifies, particularly around pricing, technology, platform capabilities and customer experience.
FXCM, meanwhile, has operated in online trading since 1999 and provides access to foreign exchange and CFD markets. Its British activities are conducted through Stratos Markets Limited, which also operates the multi-asset trading brand Tradu.
Eligible customers covered by the agreement are expected to transition to Trade Nation once the transaction is completed. Until then, they will continue to be serviced under their existing arrangements.
The move comes amid continued change across the UK brokerage landscape, where regulatory requirements, rising technology investment and competition for active traders are shaping firms’ expansion strategies. Acquiring an existing portfolio can provide brokers with a faster route to greater scale while reducing their dependence on increasingly competitive marketing and customer acquisition channels.
For Trade Nation, the agreement represents a notable step in expanding its domestic footprint and reinforces a wider trend of consolidation and strategic client-book transactions across the forex and CFD sector.
