Nasdaq has appointed Andrew Murray as Senior Vice President of Financial Technology for Asia-Pacific, strengthening its regional leadership as financial institutions increase investment in advanced trading and market infrastructure.
Based in Singapore, Murray will oversee regional business development initiatives, strengthen relationships with financial technology clients and support the expansion of Nasdaq's technology solutions across key Asia-Pacific markets.
Murray brings more than 30 years of experience in financial technology, having previously held senior leadership positions at FIS, Calypso Technology, SunGard and Wall Street Systems. His background includes enterprise financial software, trading systems and technology solutions serving global financial institutions.
The appointment comes alongside the relocation of Bob McCooey, Nasdaq's Vice Chairman and Head of International Listings, to Singapore, reinforcing the company's strategic focus on the region.
These leadership developments reflect Nasdaq's efforts to deepen its engagement with Asian capital markets and support financial institutions as they modernize trading platforms, risk management systems and market infrastructure.
Across Asia-Pacific, increasing adoption of artificial intelligence, automation and data-driven technologies is reshaping financial operations and creating opportunities for providers of institutional technology solutions.
For Nasdaq, expanding its regional leadership supports its broader strategy to strengthen client relationships, capture emerging business opportunities and advance its financial technology presence in one of the world's major financial markets.
