FTSE 100 opens lower today; shares down

U.K. equities started with losses on Wednesday. The top losers were Beverages, Gas Water & Multiutilities, Life Insurance and Industrial Transportation sectors. However, there were some sectors rising; Industrial Metals & Mining, for example.

At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.20%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also fell. The FTSE 250 dropped 0.05%, while the FTSE 350 was down by 0.32%.

Top Gainers:

EasyJet (LON:EZJ): Climbed 1.80% or 9.20 points to 519.20. Fresnillo (LON:FRES): Rose 1.58% or 9.45 points to 608.45. Rio Tinto (LON:RIO): Increased 1.21% or 61.0 points to 5,110.0. InvestingPro Top Gainers Analyst Price Target Median

Top Losers:

In Commodities Trading:

Gold Futures for December delivery rose 0.05 points to 2,677.05 a troy ounce. Crude Oil for November delivery fell 0.37 points to 71.19 a barrel. December Brent Oil Contract declined 0.40% or 0.30 points to 74.17 a barrel. Currency Markets:

GBP/USD is at 1.3392 at the time of writing. EUR/GBP is trying to recover from some of the losses, at 0.8355 at the moment. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 100.080. Main Economic Events:
