Microsoft invests 400 million dollars in Swiss digital infrastructure

Microsoft has announced a massive investment of $400 million in Switzerland, aimed at supporting and developing its infrastructure in the fields of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, in a move that reflects the ongoing expansion of global tech giants in the European market.

The announcement came during a meeting between Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs Guy Parmelin and Brad Smith, Vice Chairman of Microsoft, in the capital Bern, where the company emphasized its long-term commitment to the Swiss market.

This investment represents a significant boost for the artificial intelligence sector in Europe, at a time when global companies are rushing to expand their technical capabilities and data centers on the continent. It also reflects Microsoft's increasing interest in providing more advanced services for Swiss customers, particularly in the public and private sectors.

Microsoft currently employs about 1,000 people in Switzerland, but it has not disclosed the number of jobs that this new investment may create. However, the project is expected to contribute to the creation of direct and indirect job opportunities in the fields of technology, engineering, and data.

This announcement is part of a series of major investments by Microsoft worldwide, especially in light of the heightened competition in the field of artificial intelligence, which has become a central focus in the growth strategies of major tech companies.

The move also reflects Microsoft's confidence in the Swiss regulatory and technological environment, which is considered one of the most stable and attractive in Europe, especially for projects related to digital infrastructure and cloud innovation.
