Preliminary data released by the European Statistics Office (Eurostat) on Thursday morning showed that the economy of the Eurozone grew less than what market expectations had indicated, as the region's gross domestic product (GDP) recorded a growth of 0.9% during the fourth quarter of last year, compared to the same quarter of the previous year. This follows a growth of 0.9% in the Eurozone's economy during the third quarter of 2024.
On a quarterly basis, the Eurozone recorded a change of 0.0% in GDP during the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter, which was lower than expectations that indicated a growth of 0.1%. The previous reading of the economic growth rate for the region during the third quarter was recorded at 0.4%.
