German private sector sees fastest growth in 10 months

Germany’s private sector has experienced its fastest rate of growth in ten months, as of March, according to a survey released on Monday.

The HCOB German flash composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), which is compiled by S&P Global, plays a significant role in these findings.

The index rose to 50.9 in March, up from 50.4 in February. This is the highest it has been since May of the previous year.

The PMI, an indicator of economic health for manufacturing and service sectors, has crossed the 50.0 threshold.

This is a critical point, as it separates growth from contraction. This recent increase suggests that Germany’s private sector is currently in a phase of expansion.
