Euronext Plans to Appoint David Knibbe as CEO and Chairman of Managing Board

Euronext N.V., one of Europe's leading stock exchange operators, has announced plans to nominate David Knibbe as its next Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Managing Board, marking a significant leadership transition for the pan-European market infrastructure group.

Knibbe is expected to succeed Stéphane Boujnah, who will step down in May 2027 after more than a decade leading Euronext. The proposed appointment will be submitted for shareholder approval at the company's Annual General Meeting on May 20, 2027.

Currently serving as CEO of NN Group since 2019, Knibbe brings extensive experience in financial services, corporate transformation, and managing businesses operating within complex regulatory environments. His leadership background is expected to support Euronext's continued expansion and strategic development.

Under Boujnah's leadership, Euronext significantly expanded its European presence, strengthening its position across equities, derivatives, fixed income, clearing, settlement, and other financial market services.

Piero Novelli, Chairman of Euronext's Supervisory Board, highlighted Knibbe's experience in delivering shareholder value, managing business integrations, and leading strategic transformations as important factors behind the nomination.

The planned leadership transition comes as Euronext continues to advance its European market integration strategy, strengthen its trading infrastructure, and expand its financial services capabilities.

Knibbe is expected to leave NN Group in March 2027 ahead of assuming his proposed responsibilities at Euronext. His appointment remains subject to shareholder approval and relevant regulatory authorisations.
