IG Japan Expands Trading Offering with US Russell 2000 Vanilla Options

IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of global online trading provider IG Group, has expanded its investment product portfolio with the introduction of US Russ2000 Vanilla Options, offering clients additional exposure to the US small-cap equity market.

Announced on November 2, 2026, the new instruments are linked to the Russell 2000 Index, a widely followed benchmark tracking approximately 2,000 small-cap companies in the United States. The product is now available to IG Japan clients holding stock index trading accounts.

The launch expands IG Securities' existing vanilla options offering, which covers multiple asset classes, including foreign exchange, stock indices, commodities, and volatility indices. These instruments allow investors to implement different trading strategies based on market movements, volatility expectations, and risk management objectives.

The latest addition follows IG Japan's decision to resume vanilla options trading for individual account holders in August 2026, after temporarily suspending new transactions in May to review its margin calculation methodology.

With the introduction of Russell 2000-linked options, IG Japan is broadening its range of US equity index derivatives beyond exposure to major large-cap benchmarks. The new product provides traders with opportunities to express views on smaller US companies and diversify their index-based trading strategies.

The expansion forms part of IG Group's ongoing efforts to enhance its trading services and provide clients with access to a wider selection of financial instruments across international markets.
